About this organization...
The Janet Hansen Fund organization has been established in memory of Janet for the benefit of the children within and around Edinburgh Indiana. The primary purpose of the fund is to provide on-going funding for the Janet Hansen Memorial Edinburgh Scholarship, an award given each year to one or more students graduating from Edinburgh High School. The organization also supports local youth sports and educational development in other ways. Another purpose of this fund is to generate awareness of pancreatic cancer and support pancreatic cancer research.
Scholarship Fund Management: The scholarship fund is managed by the Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF). All donations to the scholarship fund are directly deposited into and invested by JCCF, and award distributions are paid through JCCF.
Donations made directly to JanetHansenFund.org are managed by the organization and leveraged through fund raisers to earn even more for the cause. The organization then distributes all donations + fund raiser profits in compliance to the cause. Fund raisers are designed to also promote anti-cancer health and awareness, and as a side benefit, support the local economy.
Board of Governance: The organization is governed by an independent board which makes decisions concerning fund raising operations and award distributions. The board consists of individual representatives from a cross section of local leaders with an interest in supporting Edinburgh's youth:
Edinburgh School Corporation
Superintendent of Schools
School Board Member
Town of Edinburgh
Town Youth Sports Representative
Downtown Merchants Representative
Fund Founders
